Gerald and Susan Vanderford - Awana Missionaries to East TN
Gerald and Susan Vanderford have been serving with Awana since 2002. The Vanderfords have served in a variety of roles in Tennessee and are currently serving as Awana Missionaries there. Their vision is to equip local churches to reach families with the gospel of Christ. Prior to 2002 they led the Awana ministry in their local church for ten years and served eight years on the Ministry Team with Awana Missionaries Tom and Marti Chance.
Back when they just had 4 children they were invited by their friends to attend an Awana club and the rest, as they say, is history. All eight children grew up in Awana and now grandchildren are involved in Awana and growing in their faith.

TJ and Kathy Sipes - Awana Missionaries to MS and West TN
TJ and his late wife have four children and began serving as Awana missionaries in February of 2000 with 55 churches. His strong desire to see young girls/boy's lives transformed by the Gospel of Christ is what drives him in his calling. Meeting with local pastors of the more than 150 churches that TJ serves in Mississippi and West TN, is vital in helping them find the greatest successes for their communities. One of their main roles is to encourage and equip Awana Leaders and church staff in the use of the Awana Ministry.
TJ married Kathy in February of 2009. Kathy began serving as the Awana Administrative Assistant for the state of Mississippi in October 2008 after working as a Registered Nurse with a BSN in various fields of nursing for 18 1/2 years. Kathy has served on five foreign Medical Missions Trips in the past, she has been a Trek Jr. Leader, Awana At Home Director currently serves as our Global Outreach Missions Director and T&T leader. We are so grateful the Ministry Partners who have supported us through both prayer and finances. We would enjoy having you join us on this great adventure.
